4 October 2018: Business meetingPeople sitting at dining tables and listening to a lady speaking

We had two visitors today, a potential member who first visited us two weeks ago, and the Chairman of the local branch of the Samaritans. Whilst Rotary business meetings may not always be of much interest to outsiders it has hopefully given our potential new members a greater insight into the way the Club works.

Our Treasurer presented the accounts for the Trust Fund and the Club Funds to the end of September.

The Chair of our Membership Committee, announced that we now have two Business Partners,. She distributed leaflets on our Business Partnership Scheme so that members could discuss it with businesses they were in contact with which might be interested.

The Chair of the Youth Service Committee, reported on the encouraging developments in the Interact Club we sponsor, particularly the growth in membership.

She and another Committee member described briefly the new RYLA scheme and encouraged members to speak to them if they were prepared to become tutors.

We also received reports from other Committee Chairs and reports on two of our members who are seriously unwell. One member was thanked for his part in organising the very successful trip on a Thames sailing barge the previous Friday.
